Our Year of Growth and Achievement
Tēnā tātou e te whānau,
It’s with great delight that I share the results of the 2024/25 financial year. I am immensely proud of the growth and resilience our Taiwhenua has shown. Our people are our greatest treasure, and I’m inspired by their efforts to contribute to the wellbeing prosperity, and resilience of our people and the wider community.
Our Year of Growth and Achievement:
This year was significant for the Taiwhenua:
Supported more than 5,000 whānau to grow capacity, remove barriers, and strengthen cultural connection
Helped more than 350 tamariki re-engage with education, improve attendance, and thrive in kura
Achieved Level 3 Social Services accreditation with Te Kāhui Kahu, recognising our professionalism and quality of care
Beyond these achievements, it’s the stories of transformation that inspire our mahi — whānau becoming self-determining with support from Whānau Ora, rangatahi being nurtured through Toikuranui and He Poutama Rangatahi, and marae strengthening their oranga tonutanga for future generations.
Guided by our mission Kia Tupu, Kia Hua, Kia Puāwai and our new five-year strategic plan – Ngā Pou o Te Whare 2025-2030, we continue to strengthen the wellbeing, prosperity, and identity of our whānau, hapū, and marae across Te Whanganui ā Orotū.
We are now preparing to take a bold step — securing our permanent kāinga at 2 Wellesley Road, ensuring our Taiwhenua stands strong as a home for our kaupapa and our people.
He mihi nui ki ō tātou kaimahi, poari, rōpū o ngā mahi katoa — and most of all, to our whānau. Nā koutou i whakamana i ō tātou Taiwhenua o Te Whanganui ā Orotū.
Together, we are proving that when we invest in our people, our culture, and our future — we all thrive.
Ko te pae tawhiti whāia kia tata, ko te pae tata whakamaua kia tina!
